The Jambalaya Soul Slam is Saturday 10/18/25 at 8:00pm. Doors at 7:30pm. $10 general admission. See area poets take the stage to share their thoughts, ideas, and insights. The South Still Talking: Poetry Workshop and Reading

Come out for a distinct and engaging poetry experience dedicated to and inspired by southern experiences and poetics! Dasan Ahanu will use selected southern works to guide a workshop that will allow participants to brings concepts and ideas to life. After the workshop, our special guest poet Poetic Zoe will introduce the audience to his art as we celebrate the power of the southern voice on page and on stage. This event is sponsored by the North Carolina Poetry Society.
The goal is to speak to the moments that make us and celebrate the poetry that resonates with us.
We will be giving away copies of Your South/Our South, a poetic zine created in collaboration with PEN Piedmont, Rofhiwa Book Cafe, and Scalawag Magazine.
